CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Chattanooga Police Department has arrested a man in connection with a stabbing at a business in the East Brainerd area.
Officers responded shortly after 2:00 p.m. on April 23 to a reported shooting in the 2100 block of Gunbarrel Road. Upon arrival, police located the suspect in a parking lot and found a 28-year-old man inside the business lobby with what initially appeared to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
According to authorities, the victim was transported by Hamilton County EMS to a hospital, where it was later determined he had been stabbed, not shot.
Investigators with the department’s Homicide Unit responded to the scene. Preliminary findings indicate the suspect became involved in an altercation with the victim, during which he allegedly punched and stabbed the man and fired multiple rounds, none of which struck the victim.
