Chattanooga, TN –  Chattanooga Fire Department’s Green Shift personnel responded to a serious single-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon that left a car trapped between a building and a retaining wall in the 200 block of Woodland Avenue.

The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m., prompting a multi-agency response that included Engine 12, Squad 1, Squad 20, Battalion 1, Hamilton County EMS (HCEMS), and the Chattanooga Police Department (CPD). According to officials, the vehicle became lodged in a narrow space, requiring extrication efforts to free the two passengers inside.

Firefighters worked quickly and carefully to remove both individuals from the damaged vehicle. One of the passengers sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital by HCEMS. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Chattanooga police. Emergency crews cleared the scene after ensuring there were no further hazards.

The Chattanooga Fire Department praised the coordinated efforts of all agencies involved and reminded the public to exercise caution while driving, particularly near structures and narrow roadways.
