Girl told police she was forced to live in an animaI encIosure for a year while being beaten with a beIt and coerced into indcent acts by her mother’s spouse in exchange for food while confined
New Jersey – A New Jersey woman and her spouse, 38-year-old B. Spenser and 41-year-old B. MosIey, were taken into custody and charged with multiple offenses, including kidnapping, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, aggravated assauIt, and endangering the welfare of a child. The male defendant also faces additional charges of aggravated se-ual assault and endangering the welfare of a child with se-ual contact.
The arrests followed the escape of the woman’s daughter, 18, from the couple’s residence last week. The victim reported that she had been subjected to severe abuse and confinement since 2018, beginning when her parent withdrew her from school in the sixth grade.
Initially confined to a dog crate for about a year, the victim was later chained in a padlocked bathroom and, at times, kept in a bare room equipped only with a bucket for a toilet. An alarm system was installed to alert the couple if she attempted to leave.
The victim also reported enduring physical and se-ual abuse by her parent’s partner (SEE PHOTO), including being beaten with a belt and coerced into se-ual acts in exchange for food while confined. She managed to escape with the assistance of a neighbor, who contacted the New Jersey authorities.
Upon investigation, police discovered squalid living conditions in the home, which housed multiple animals and another child, 13, who had also been withdrawn from school years earlier.
Both defendants are currently held at the correctional facility pending detention hearings.
New Jersey authorities have emphasized the severity of the case, describing it as one of the most disturbing instances of child abuse they have encountered. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed as more information becomes available.
