Mom claimed she would take her child out to his father after staff told her that the boy was not allowed inside the cIub, only to come back and consume alcohol for 1 hour while leaving her children, including a baby, all alone; charged
Jacksonville, Florida – Florida woman was taken into custody and later charged with multiple charges, including child negIect, after leaving her children alone in her vehicIe only for her to go to the cIub and drink. Authorities in Florida said the woman, 36-year-old Tifany, was drunk when she exited the establishment and attacked one of the responding officers. All the mother’s children, baby, 3-year-old boy, 5-year-old girl and 8-year-old boy, were then removed from her custody and released them to family members.
This unfortunate incident occurred right before 10 p.m. on Monday. The investigation process began after one of the establishment’s employees became worried about the woman’s child, who initially entered the cIub, with one of her child only to be told that people under 21 were not allowed inside. The woman then told the employee that she would take her child out to his dad. Shortly after, the woman returned and began drinking. The woman ordered alcohol and food, police officials said.
After spending nearly 50 minutes in the cIub, the employee became worried about the child and went outside to take a look. Outside, the employee found the woman’s vehicle running with her four children inside. According to the witness, the children were left alone, without any supervision, in a dark parking lot in a high crime area, local news outlet WFLA reported.
The man then called 911 and told the dispatcher about the incident. The responding officers said the baby was found face down in the backseat which could have caused suffocation. The responding officers made contact with the parent, who was highly lntoxicated when she exited the cIub. The woman reportedly began arguing with the officers before kicking one of them.
Throughout the investigation, she appeared intoxicated, was belligerent, uncooperative, and physically defiant. While being taken into custody, she kicked an officer. Employees from the Florida Department of Children and Families took custody of the woman’s children and released them to family members.
