Tennessee – A Tennessee man accused of killing his spouse allegedly told 911 dispatchers that he had shot her and made statements claiming his wife was “the devil” and that he was “Jesus,” according to newly released court documents.

Douglas Kirkland Rawl was charged with criminal homicide in connection with the July 1 death of his wife, Allison “Che’ Che’” Rawl, at their College Grove home, according to an arrest affidavit.

Investigators said Rawl called 911 at approximately 2:15 a.m. and identified himself before telling dispatchers he had shot his wife. The affidavit states he made several unusual statements during the call, including that he believed his wife was “the devil” and that he was “the son of God, or even Jesus,” WSMV reported.

Deputies with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home and found Rawl outside, according to court documents. The affidavit states he was removing his clothing and moved toward a sergeant while ignoring commands before deputies used a less-lethal method to take him into custody.

After entering the residence, deputies found Allison Rawl in a rear bedroom suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.

Investigators recovered a revolver at the scene that they say matched information provided during the 911 call. Court documents state the firearm contained spent shell casings and investigators collected additional evidence while processing the home.

The affidavit also states that Rawl later spoke with investigators about an argument with his wife before the shooting. According to the documents, he said he remembered being on the floor with her and having a firearm in his hand, but investigators said he did not attempt to provide medical assistance afterward.

Rawl remains accused of criminal homicide, and the case is continuing through the legal process. His bond was set at $2.5 million, according to court information reported by WSMV.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office previously asked residents in the Wellsford Lane area to review possible surveillance footage from the early morning hours of July 1 as detectives continued their investigation.

Authorities have not announced additional details about a possible motive. The allegations against Rawl remain accusations, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
