The Texas Department of Public Safety is asking the Chattanooga community for assistance with a cold case homicide that occurred near Wizard Wells, Texas in 1984

Chattanooga, TN – According to the officials, the Jack County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Rangers have identified the victim of a homicide that occurred near Wizard Wells, Texas, in 1984 as Roberta Mumma. Roberta Mumma’s skeletal remains were discovered in a remote area in Jack County over 35 years ago, and her identity remained a mystery until now.

The victim was identified as Roberta Mumma, who was 25 years old at the time of her death. Roberta Mumma was identified using advanced forensic techniques and DNA analysis.

The Jack County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Rangers are actively investigating this cold case and seeking justice for Roberta Mumma.  Roberta Mumma’s last known location before the discovery of her remains was in Tennessee. 

Authorities are urging anyone with information about Roberta Mumma or the circumstances surrounding her death to come forward. The smallest detail could be crucial in solving this case and bringing closure to Roberta Mumma’s loved ones.
