15-year-old injured following shooting on Highway 153 South, CPD investigating
Chattanooga, TN – The Chattanooga Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a 15-year-old male injured after a reported road rage incident on Highway 153 South between Thrasher Bridge and Exit 5A.
According to CPD, officers responded at 4:40 a.m. to reports of a person shot in the 4900 block of Bonny Oaks Drive.
When officers arrived, they learned the shooting did not occur at that location.
The victim was transported to a local hospital by Hamilton County EMS with non-life-threatening injuries.
CPD’s Homicide and Crime Scene Units responded to investigate and began canvassing the area of the reported shooting location.
The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a road rage incident with the suspect’s vehicle.
Police said the investigation remains active and all leads are being thoroughly pursued.
Chattanooga Police said the information released is preliminary and subject to change as the investigation continues.
