19-year-old man injured after shots fired from another vehicle on East Brainerd Road, CPD says juvenile passenger unharmed
Chattanooga, TN – The Chattanooga Police Department is investigating a shooting on East Brainerd Road that left a 19-year-old man injured Tuesday evening.
According to police, officers responded at approximately 6:10 p.m. to a reported shooting in the 7700 block of East Brainerd Road.
When officers arrived, they found a 19-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. His injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening, and Hamilton County EMS transported him to a local hospital for treatment.
The preliminary investigation found that the 19-year-old man and a juvenile were traveling on East Brainerd Road when someone fired shots at their vehicle from another vehicle, according to the Chattanooga Police Department. The juvenile was not injured.
CPD’s Crime Scene Unit and Homicide Unit responded to the scene to collect evidence and investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Police said the investigation remains active and ongoing, and additional details may be released as detectives continue their work.
