Woman, who did not get vaccinated against COVID-19 sooner because she spent most of her time at home, says it could be six months before she finally can speak normally again after contracting the virus

Doctors told the woman that it could be 6 months before she can speak normally again. The 30-year-old mother says she spent 5 months in the hospital fighting for her life after she contracted COVID-19. After contracting the Coronavirus, the young woman was intubated and put in a medically induced coma from January to March. When she woke up, the doctors told her that her fight is far from over. The woman was still on a ventilator and couldn’t’ talk at all because she had the tracheostomy. She also had a feeding tube and almost died a couple of times.

During an interview with KMOV, the 30-year-old woman from MO, Laquanachae Moore, said that it could be 6 months before she finally can speak normally again. Unfortunately, the young woman spent 5 months in the hospital fighting for her life after she contracted the Coronavirus in Dec. 2021.

Moore reportedly said: “It got worse on January 10. I couldn’t breathe, barely. I couldn’t get up and walk anywhere, so I was really down. So, my sister took me to the emergency room. I remember getting admitted and going to the ICU. After that nothing.”

According to KOMU, the 30-year-old mother was then intubated and put in a medically induced coma from January to March. When she woke up, the doctors told her that her fight is far from over. The woman was still on a ventilator and couldn’t’ talk at all because she had the tracheostomy. Moore also said she had a feeding tube and almost died a couple of times.

Luckily, after spending more than 5 months in the hospital, the doctors told Moore that she can go home to her family. The young mother told KY3 that she “was gonna get vaccinated but she caught Covid first.” The 30-year-old woman also said that the main reason she did not get vaccinated sooner was because she spent most of her time at home and she was not concerned about a threat. She still doesn’t know how she contracted the Coronavirus.

Moore reportedly told KMOV: “Get vaccinated if you can because there’s a lot of people in the hospital now who is not making it like I did, and it’s sad to hear.”

While the young mother is waiting to get her voice back, she will have to adapt to live with other difficulties, from having asthma permanently to having to be more careful around other people. Moore says that she can’t be around a lot of people.

“If I do, I can get a respiratory infection. And, yeah, it might kill me that time. I might be right back in the hospital.” Moore reportedly told KOMU.
