Chattanooga, TN – According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the shooting occurred around 3:15 p.m. Friday.
It happened in a wooded area behind the 9700 block of Berry Meadow Way.
Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies were attempting to locate a man on the TBI Most Wanted List.
His name is James Michael Farris and he reportedly had a firearm and pointed it at officers.
HCSO deputies fired his weapon, striking the suspect.
James Michael Farris was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
