Chattanooga Fire Department crews rescue trapped patient after two-vehicle crash on Hixson Pike
Chattanooga, TN – Chattanooga Fire Department crews responded to a serious two-vehicle crash Saturday night on Hixson Pike at N Access Road involving multiple patients and a person trapped inside a vehicle.
According to the department, firefighters arrived to find one vehicle overturned on its roof with one occupant unable to get out. The vehicle had four passengers inside, while occupants of the second vehicle were already out when crews arrived.
Firefighters worked together to free the trapped patient from the wreckage. Once the person was removed from the vehicle, they were immediately transferred to an ambulance for medical care.
A total of three patients were transported to the hospital by Hamilton County EMS.
After patient care and rescue operations were completed, Chattanooga Fire Department personnel cleared debris from the roadway and placed oil dry where needed before returning to service.
Engine 16, Squad 19, Squad 7, and Battalion 3 Red Shift responded to the scene.
