Tennessee – The Tennessee Department of Agriculture Division of Forestry’s East Tennessee Nursery announced that it is accepting tree seedling orders through March 15, 2026, or while supplies last. More than two dozen tree and shrub seedlings are available for reforestation and conservation projects.

State Forester Heather Slayton highlighted the importance of the program, noting that the seedlings are grown from seed collected no more than 50 miles from Tennessee’s borders. She said the native species are well-suited to thrive in the state and play a critical role in the resilience and health of both urban and rural forests.

The East Tennessee Nursery produces millions of native trees and shrubs each year, offering seedlings to public, nonprofit, and private organizations, as well as individuals.

Financial assistance programs are available for qualified landowners, including initiatives sponsored by Beam Suntory, Promark (formerly D’Addario), Huber Engineered Woods, LLC., and the Tree City USA program. Each program carries its own requirements, and some require a forest management plan.

Landowners may also qualify for additional cost share opportunities for hardwood and softwood seedling purchases through the Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program.
