Chattanooga, TN – According to the state officials, this phase will involve closing the remainder of the block surrounding the Legislative Plaza and War Memorial buildings by extending the existing fence enclosure, which will remain in place for the duration of the project.
As part of this phase, the northbound lane of 7th Avenue will remain closed, requiring drivers to detour to 6th Avenue or Rosa Parks Avenue from Union Street.
Additionally, 7th Avenue will be completely closed for approximately two weeks around the end of October. Further information will be shared as the closure date approaches.
Access to the Capitol will continue to be available through the Motlow Tunnel on MLK Boulevard until Phase 3b begins in January 2025.
