Seattle, WA – According to the police officials, the 48-year-old man, later identified as Jahmad, was taken into custody and later charged with first-degree murder and first-degree animal crueIty after he reportedly killed the owner of the vehicle he was trying to steal by running the elderly woman with her own car. After fleeing the scene, the 48-year-old man reportedly stabbed the woman’s dog to death. 

Police officials say the victim had several pets in her car after she reportedly walked the animals at a local park. The 48-year-old man, who is 8 times convicted felon and has a history of mental health concerns, then got into the victim’s vehicle and tried to remove the woman from the car. When witnesses saw the incident, they tried to help the woman. The 48-year-old man then pulled out a knife and threatened them. 

Shortly after, the 48-year-old man reversed he vehicle he was trying to steal into two parked cars, only to run over the owner before speeding off and leaving the elderly woman to die. The 80-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The 48-year-old man was taken into custody the following day. Officers found the victim’s vehicle near his residence. The victim’s dog was stabbed to death and officers reportedly found a knife covered in bIood at the suspect’s residence. The 48-year-old career criminal was convicted of vehicular homicide and hit and run, and his most recent arrest was in 2005 for an undisclosed case.
