Chattanooga, TN – According to the state officials, third-grade scores remained steady, while fourth-grade scores showed significant improvement.

This progress is attributed to Tennessee’s comprehensive, nation-leading literacy strategy for public schools.

Governor Lee made the following statement:

“Tennessee’s strategic education investments have led to substantial gains in reading for students across the state.

As we continue our efforts to ensure all Tennessee students can read at grade level, we are committed to supporting teachers and empowering families with multiple pathways to achievement, enabling every student to thrive in their academic journey.”
