Jacksonville, FL – According to the police officials, the son, later identified as 17-year-old CoIIin, was arrested and later charged with first-degree murder after he killed his mom, 39-year-old Katherine, last week. Police officials say the teen reportedly grabbed a knife and stabbed the parent to death following an argument. The Sheriff’s Office released a statement, saying that the son showed zero remorrse when the responding deputies arrived on scene. Last year, the same teen killed his dad, claiming that his father pulled a knife on him, so he shot and killed the man. Prosecutors in Oklahoma, where the fatal incident occurred, dropped the charges because they couldn’t disprove the son’s assertion of self-defense.

The investigation process began after the 911 caller told the dispatcher that ‘his parent fell on a knife following an argument with him’. First responders discovered that the woman was suffering from a severe stab wound to the neck and rushed her to the hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead. Authorities say the stabbing occurred at the victim’s mother’s home, who is the suspect’s grandparent.

Shortly after his arrest, the teen claimed self-defense. According to the police officials, last year, shortly after killing his dad, the then-15-year-old teen went to live with this grandparent in Florida. Several weeks later, while he was committed for mental health reasons, he reportedly made several threats towards his mom that ‘he will kill his mom by shooting or stabbing her’. Several months after that incident, he reportedly stomped on his mom while she was on the ground because the parent told him that he couldn’t play on his gaming console.

Several days before he killed his mom, the 17-year-old had a fight with the woman about chores at home. He then went to his grandmother in Florida, but his grandparent wasn’t home. The victim then went to Florida to take her son home only to be seen by neighbors get dragged inside the house by the hair by her own son several hours before she was murdered. The Sheriffs’ Office released a statement, saying that the victim ‘paid the ultimate price for trying to take care of her son’.
