Omaha, NE – According to the police officials, the 40-year-old mom from Nebraska, later identified as Ciara, was arrested and later charged with child abuse after she reportedly left he baby in her pickup truck while the temperatures outside were above 90 °F. During the investigation process, authorities reportedly discovered that the mother reportedly left her child inside her vehicle so she could go inside the building and participate in rlding event.
Police officials released a statement, saying that the mother is accused of spending part of her weekend riding a h0rse at the local fairgrounds as she left her 3-month-old baby alone inside of a pickup truck with the windows only partially ajar on a day that reached temperatures of °F, the sheriff’s office said.
The woman was taken into custody after passerby reportedly heard the 3-month-old baby crying in the hot vehicle near other parked cars and stepped in to help. Authorities didn’t specify exactly how long the baby was inside the pickup truck with no air conditioning on, but they did say it was a substantial amount of time and they’re crediting caring law-abiding citizens for hearing something and saying something while Dugan was inside of a building.
The responding deputies reportedly said that they found the mother inside a building at the fairgrounds riding a horse and arrested her for child abuse. The 3-month-old child was taken to a local hospital, where doctors determined that no injuries were sustained. The child was placed in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.
