Tennessee State Parks officials are excited about the upcoming improvements at Burgess Falls State Park, which will include a new Visitor Center and aviary
Chattanooga, TN – State officials released a statement, saying that construction may affect the visitor experience until the project is completed in 2026.
The construction will temporarily reduce the available parking at the park. Currently, there are 84 parking spaces—51 in the lower lot and 33 in the upper lot.
The upper lot will be used for construction equipment and supplies, leading to a reduction in parking availability.
Given the park’s existing parking limitations, especially during weekends, holidays, and school breaks, this change may impact visitors.
The new Visitor Center project will also necessitate the removal of several trees near the road to accommodate underground utilities, a new entrance, and additional parking spaces.
While parks officials are aware of the challenges, they emphasize that these steps are necessary for the successful completion of the improvements.
