Chattanooga, TN – The Chattanooga Fire Department (CFD) announced the promotion of Randall Herron to the rank of captain, marking a significant milestone in his 25-year career with the department.
The celebration included fellow firefighters, command staff, and Herron’s family.
Known for his kindness, professionalism, and dedication, Captain Herron has earned the respect of his peers, who describe him as “top notch.”
Beyond his work in emergency response, Herron has played a vital role in preserving the department’s 150+ year history and is an active member of the CFD Honor Guard.
Fire Chief Phil Hyman praised Herron’s contributions, stating, “I’m super proud that you’re taking this next step and I know you’ll do great in this position with the experience and perspective you bring.
I know you will continue helping to move the department forward as captain and I appreciate all that you do to mentor the younger generations of firefighters.”
