Chattanooga Police Department celebrates graduation of 19 new officers
Chattanooga, TN – The Chattanooga Police Department proudly graduated 19 officers from its 2024-2 Police Academy after 22 weeks of intensive training. The graduates completed a rigorous program that included classroom instruction, defensive tactics, and in-depth lessons on criminal and Constitutional law. Their next step will be 16 weeks of hands-on experience, working with Field Training Officers to apply their skills in real-world scenarios.
Distinguished speakers including Retired DEA Agent Ben Scott, Chief of Police John Chambers, Mayor Tim Kelly, and Class President Samantha Scott delivered inspiring remarks to the new officers.
The Chattanooga Police Department is now hiring for its next academy.
The department also expressed appreciation to Boyd Buchanan School for hosting the ceremony. The department is excited to see the achievements of these dedicated officers as they begin their careers.
