Chattanooga Police Department continues commitment to supporting individuals with mental and behavioral health challenges through Crisis Intervention Training
Chattanooga, TN – According to the police officials, 12 Chattanooga officers, along with eight officers from nearby agencies—including the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) Police Department, East Ridge Police Department, Signal Mountain Police Department, and Soddy-Daisy Police Department—completed the latest CIT session.
CIT is designed to enhance officers’ ability to respond to individuals in crisis or high-stress situations, ensuring they receive the appropriate care and support.
Although group photos could not be taken due to a recent hurricane, individual photos of some participants were captured to recognize their efforts.
The department expressed gratitude to NAMI Chattanooga for funding this crucial training.
The officers’ commitment to this program strengthens the department’s ability to address mental health crises effectively and compassionately, benefiting the entire community.
