Parent made a deaI with her child to take their own lives only for the child to follow through it and the mother didn’t, then start freaking out when her daughter wouldn’t wake up; charged
MISSISSIPPI – According to the police officials, the 37-year-old parent, later identified as Britney, was arrested and later charged with aggravated chiId abuse after her child nearly lost her life. After the incident, the parent was set to meet with CPS employees and police officers, only for the woman to run away to Alabama.
The investigation process began earlier this year, in July, police officials said. The woman called 911 and told the dispatcher that her child was not responsive. First responders realized that the child took multiple unknown pills and rushed her to the hospital for treatment. While at the hospital, doctors intubated the child. Several hours later, the child woke up only to tell investigators that she and her parent made a deal and she took a lot of prescription piIIs.
The responding officers reportedly found empty prescription medication bottles which were prescribed to the parent. During the investigators process, authorities discovered that the child and the woman made a deal to take their lives by drinking a lot of pills. But, only the 10-year-old child, who was not identified due to her age, followed through.
The child took the medication, but not her mother. The mother called 911 when her child wouldn’t wake up. The 37-year-old mom was taken into custody earlier this month and is being held on $500,000 bond. She was extradited from Alabama back to Mississippi, court records say.
