Chattanooga, TN – According to the CFD officials, 2 abandoned structures went up in flames Thursday morning in a wooded area off Youngstown Road. Chattanooga Fire Department’s Green Shift teams were dispatched to the 3700 block of Faith Road around 9:32 a.m. on October 31, 2024, where a small vacant structure had caught fire. Flames quickly spread to an adjacent collapsed single-wide trailer located in the woods.

Firefighters made a swift knockdown of the flames, working to check for any extension of the fire.

To fully extinguish the blaze, Chattanooga Public Works brought a trackhoe to the scene, allowing firefighters to break apart debris and access any remaining hot spots.

The Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) assisted by deploying a drone, which helped CFD teams locate any additional hot spots in the wooded area.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.

Responding units included Engine 6, Engine 15, Engine 10, Squad 7, Ladder 7, Ladder 19, Battalion 2, Battalion 1, Battalion 3, and CFD’s Operations Chief.
