Chattanooga, TN – According to the state officials, the event, aimed at filling security team positions, offers successful candidates the opportunity to receive same-day conditional job offers by completing interviews and pre-employment requirements onsite. This initiative could enable new hires to begin work as soon as December 2.
The starting salary for TDOC correctional officers is $44,520, with an automatic increase to $46,752 after one year of service. New hires are also eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus, distributed over an 18-month period. In addition to competitive pay, the department provides a range of benefits, including health, life, vision, and dental insurance, college tuition assistance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
Successful candidates will undergo Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT), a six-week paid training program at the Tennessee Correction Academy. This comprehensive training includes both practical, hands-on learning at the facility and classroom instruction, ensuring officers are well-prepared for their duties.
The TDOC encourages interested individuals to schedule interviews in advance, although walk-ins are welcome. A state-issued photo ID is required to participate.
The TDOC Rapid Hiring Event will take place in the Middle Region on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CDT, and Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. CDT.
