Chattanooga, TN – The Chattanooga Police Department has donated a repurposed Harley-Davidson motorcycle to the Cohutta Police Department, assisting the agency after a December 2022 fire destroyed nearly all of its equipment.

The motorcycle will be used for community policing and safety education programs, while also helping Cohutta PD access new funding opportunities. Lt. Ryan Fowler of the Cohutta Police Department called the donation a significant gift, noting that it will allow the agency to apply for grants through the State of Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.

In addition to the motorcycle, CPD previously donated ballistic vests to support Cohutta officers in their daily duties. CPD Traffic Sergeant Tommy Seiter emphasized the department’s commitment to helping Cohutta rebuild, stating that even one motorcycle can have a meaningful impact on community engagement and education.

CPD expressed gratitude to the Chattanooga City Council for approving the donation and for its continued support of law enforcement agencies in times of need.
