CoIIeague made numerous advances toward a woman he worked with only to kill her one day after she told him that she ‘did not want to be touched by the man nor did she want to be manipulated by him’; sentenced
Minneapolis, MN – According to the court documents, the 38-year-old defendant, later identified as MichaeI, was found guilty of first-degree murder, second-degree murder and other charged in connection with his coIIeague’s death, NicoIe. Prosecutors claim the defendant reportedly shot the woman to death because she rejected his advances. During the investigation process, authorities discovered that the woman sent several messages to the defendant, telling him that she didn’t want to be touched by him nor did she want to be manipulated by him.
According to the court documents, the defendant is now facing life in prison. The investigation process began in October 2022 after the 911 caller told the dispatcher about shots being fired outside the victim’s work place. First responders found the woman suffering from a gunshot wound and pronounced her dead at the scene. During the investigation process, authorities reportedly spoke with a witness, who told them that they saw the defendant getting out of his car and walking toward the end of the parking lot. Then they heard a single gunshot and saw the defendant run to his vehicle and drive away.
During an interview with investigators, the defendant reportedly denied shooting the victim and said that he saw a person in a hat going towards the victim. The defendant also said that when he heard a gunshot, he reportedly turned around and left without rendering any aid or calling 911. During the investigation process, authorities also checked the defendant’s phone, which had many messages between him and the victim. One day before the woman was killed, she reportedly messaged the defendant that she ‘did not want to be touched by him nor did she want to be manipulated by the man’.
The woman also told the defendant that ‘he shouldn’t make things uncomfortable at work’. During the investigation process, authorities also said that the defendant told other colleagues that he made many advances toward the victim, but she rejected them. When officers took the defendant into custody, they reportedly found a handgun that matched the brand and style of the shell casings found near the victim’s body.
