Road construction on I-75 South in Loudon County to cause lane closures, motorists advised to expect delays
Chattanooga, TN – According to the TDOT officials, motorists traveling on I-75 South in Loudon County should prepare for significant traffic disruptions due to upcoming road construction.
Starting Sunday, October 20, at 7 p.m., I-75 South will be reduced to one lane at Mile Marker 74 to accommodate bridge repair activities.
This lane closure will remain in effect 24/7 until the work is completed, which is expected by 6 a.m. on Saturday, November 2.
The construction schedule is subject to change depending on weather conditions.
Drivers are urged to expect delays and exercise extreme caution while traveling through the construction zone, as workers will be present.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation encourages motorists to check traffic updates before departing, using available tools to “Know Before You Go.”
TDOT also reminds drivers to avoid distractions, such as tweeting, texting, or talking on the phone while behind the wheel, to ensure the safety of both motorists and workers.
