Kentucky – A Kentucky woman, later identified as 42-year-old Marry, was taken into custody and later charged with multiple charges after a child showed up to school with a broken nosse and broken front tooth. The boy, who was not identified due to his age, didn’t say how he got injured but said he was packing wood and riding his bicycle. Authorities say the child was in the defendant’s care. The 42-year-old woman was charged with multiple charges, including first-degree child abuse, kidnapping with serious physical injury and first-degree assault.

The investigation process began after school officials noticed the child’s injuries and called the authorities. According to the police officials, the unidentified boy reportedly said that he was riding his bicycle and carried wood, but didn’t said anything else. When investigators asked the woman about the child’s injuries, she reportedly said that the boy was out playing and also ‘could have done it in his sleep’.

During the investigation process, authorities also realized that the child was maInourished and had a habit of overeating when he eats at school. According to the school officials, the child overeats until he gets sick and then throws up. Authorities also learned that the child was not allowed to eat at home due to discipline. If he would eat at school, the 42-year-old woman would not allow him to eat at home. According to Kentucky authorities, if the child eats at school, he will not get food at home since he was given this at school.

When authorities searched the woman’s home, they realized that the other children were not malnourished or abused, while the victim slept on a mattress on the floor in a dark room. Authorities said the child also suffered a cardiac arrest when he was removed from the home. Hospital staff told investigators that the child couldn’t keep down solid foods and showed signs of trture.

Another adult, 43-year-old Jerome, who reportedly lived in the same home, was also taken into custody in connection with this incident and later charged with first-degree criminal abuse (child under 12 years old), kidnapping (with serious physical injury), first-degree assault and second-degree fleeing or evading police.

Authorities released a statement, saying that both defendants were taken into custody after receiving a complaint about a child who had had occasional bruises; however, on the first day of school following the break and the recent snow days, it was noticed he had broken teeth and a broken nose. The warrant also said the child has since had a cardiac arrest and was taken to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
