Memphis, TN – According to the police officials, on Saturday, November 16, 2024, Austin Peay Station held the 7th annual Turkey Trot 5K to honor Sgt. Verdell Smith and Officer Darrell Adams, who were killed in the line of duty while assigned to the station.
Participants competed in various age groups, with winners crowned in each category. Among the victors was Officer Demoss, known as the “World’s Fastest Cop.”
The event brought together community members to remember the sacrifices of Sgt. Smith and Officer Adams while celebrating camaraderie and fitness.
Organizers extended their gratitude to everyone who participated in this meaningful tribute.
