Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and First Lady Maria Lee unveil official Christmas celebrations, inviting Tennesseans to join festive events
Chattanooga, TN – According to the state officials, the annual Christmas at the Capitol will take place on Monday, December 2, at 5:30 p.m. CST. Open to the public, the event will include the traditional Christmas tree lighting ceremony, performances by the KIPP Choir and the 129th Army Band, and a visit from Santa. This year’s 30-foot Norway spruce, donated by Paul and Connie Nichols of Ashland City, Tennessee, will be the centerpiece of the celebration.
The Lees will welcome honored guests from Friend’s Life Community, a Middle Tennessee nonprofit that supports adults with developmental disabilities. Attendees are encouraged to bring donations such as toilet paper for the Morgan Scott Project or copy paper and First-Class Postage Stamps for Family Promise of Roane County, continuing the First Lady’s Tennessee Serves initiative to aid those in need.
The Tennessee Residence will also host Christmas tours from Friday, December 6, through Sunday, December 8, and Friday, December 13, through Sunday, December 15. Themed “Tender Tennessee Christmas,” the tours will showcase timeless holiday traditions that reflect the state’s rich history and cherished customs.
Gov. Lee expressed his gratitude, stating, “Maria and I look forward to continuing the Tennessee tradition of generosity throughout the holiday season. We invite Tennesseans to join us in giving back as we prepare our hearts to receive the ultimate gift, the birth of Christ.”
