Boyfriend called his girIfriend’s family, telling them he did something bad, after shooting the woman several times in the back of the head before claiming his gun went off following a heated argument; charged
Nevada – A Nevada man was taken into custody and later charged with multiple charges, including murder and possession of a firearm as a felon in connection with the last week’s incident which left his 33-year-old partner, Renize, dead. Authorities say the 29-year-old boyfriend shot his partner several times in the back of the head, killing her, while the defendant claims that he and his partner got into an argument before he pointed a weapon at her.
During this confrontation, the man claims the firearm went off, resulting in the woman being shot several times. Authorities in Nevada stated that the victim suffered several gunshot wounds to the back of her head, which investigators believe implies that shooter was standing over her when he fired.
The investigation process began earlier this week after the defendant’s father called 911 and told the dispatcher about the incident. Shortly after killing his girIfriend, the 29-year-old man called the victim’s family and told them that he did something bad. Several hours later, the defendant called his parent and told him about the shooting. His father then called 911 and told the dispatcher about the incident.
During the investigation process, authorities in Nevada discovered that the fatal shooting occurred at an apartment after the defendant and the victim left the family gathering. According to the victim’s mom, the shooter reportedly told her that ‘he will get her daughter home safe and will take care of her’.
The victim’s family members also told investigators that everything seemed fine at a holiday gathering just before the incident, though tensions reportedly rose after an acquaintance of the shooter arrived, leading to accusations of jealousy. Witnesses described the defendant as having a history of being controlling and aggressive, local news outlet Rooster Journal reported.
The victim’s family told investigators that the shooter dated the victim for nearly 5 months, but they never expected that he would do such a thing. The 29-year-old man was denied bond, after the judge remarked on his criminal history, which includes felonies for home invasion and attempted robbery
