Chattanooga, TN – The Chattanooga Police Department honored Assistant Chief Jason Lewis as he retired after more than 30 years of dedicated service.

His career began in 1994, and he quickly advanced from patrol to the Street Crimes Unit within six years.

He then spent nearly a decade with the Highway Interdiction Team, where he played a key role in intercepting illegal drug trafficking before becoming the unit’s supervisor.

In 2016, Lewis was promoted to Lieutenant and continued his rise through the ranks, becoming Major in 2023.

By July 2024, he had reached the position of Assistant Chief, overseeing the Criminal Investigations and Special Operations Bureaus.

Lewis will now bring his extensive experience and leadership to Lookout Mountain, GA, where he was recently named the next Chief of Police.

The Chattanooga Police Department expressed gratitude for his remarkable contributions and wished him success in his new role.
