TDOT crews to close lanes and ramps on I-40 West for scheduled asphalt work
Tennessee – Tennessee Department of Transportation crews will be conducting asphalt work on I-40 West at Exit 14 (Whitten Road) this week, resulting in lane and ramp closures.
On Wednesday, March 19, and Thursday, March 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day, the following closures will be in effect:
– Lane 4 (the right lane) on I-40 West will be closed from mile marker 14.2 to 13.4.
– The Exit 14 off-ramp from I-40 West and the Whitten Road on-ramp to I-40 West will also be closed.
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes during these closures. All work is weather permitting, and drivers should plan for potential delays.
TDOT encourages all drivers to stay informed of the latest travel conditions before heading out by utilizing available motorist information tools.
It’s also a reminder for drivers to avoid distractions—such as texting or talking on a phone—while on the road. Always “Know Before You Go” and stay safe.
