Tennessee’s agricultural fairs honored at annual convention in Murfreesboro
Tennessee – Tennessee’s agricultural fairs were recognized for their achievements during the 103rd Tennessee Association of Fairs (TAF) Convention, held January 16-18 in Murfreesboro.
Nearly 1,000 attendees gathered as the Tennessee Department of Agriculture and TAF presented awards to top county, regional, and state fairs for the 2024 season.
Fifty-two fairs received the Award of Merit, judged on agriculture, education, community participation, programs, and appearance.
The Greene County Fair earned the highest honor, being named the Champion of Champions Fair for 2024. This award is selected from the three 2023 division winners.
Tennessee Agriculture Commissioner Charlie Hatcher highlighted the long-standing role of fairs in promoting the state’s agricultural heritage, while TAF President Blake Laws praised the efforts of more than 20,000 volunteers who contribute to their success.
