Nashville, TN – According to the police officials, the 21-year-old woman, later identified as Kiiya, and her 34-year-old boyfriend, later identified as Deion, were arrested and later charged with first-degree murder and other charges in connection with Kiiya’s sister’s 1-year-old baby’s death. Police officials say the child suffered severe injuries, such as: broken skuII, neck fractures, bIeeding to the brain and other injuries.
The investigation process began over the weekend after the 1-year-old baby, KaIi, was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries. The child, who was not responsive, was pronounced dead just 1 hour after arriving at hospital. During the investigation process, authorities discovered that the woman and her boyfriend were taking care of the baby for the last 3 days at her sister’s home.
During an interview with investigators, both the mom’s sister (SEE PHOTO) and her boyfriend gave different statements and bIamed each other about the baby’s death. The woman reportedly told investigators that she went outside and left the baby with her boyfriend. When she came back, the baby was not breathing and her boyfriend refused to tell her what happened. The 34-year-old man reportedly said that he was in the backyard when he heard his girlfriend throwing the baby on the floor and slamming it into the walls nearly dozen times.
The man also told investigators that when he went inside the home, his girlfriend reportedly stopped. The man also said that the baby was crying all the time and was making his girlfriend nervous. When the man entered the room, the child was not breathing. His girlfriend then told him that the baby fell from the bed and hit her head on the furniture. The baby’s mom believes that her sister’s boyfriend is the one who killed her baby.
