Texas – A Texas men, later identified as 23-year-old HaroId, was sentenced to life in prison after jury found him guilty of murder in connection with his girIfriend’s death last year. According to the prosecutors, the defendant killed 26-year-old GabrieIIa last year following a several months relationship. Authorities believe the defendant killed the woman after discovering that she traveled from Texas to Colorado to get an abrtion. The woman was killed by her boyfriend one day after returning from Colorado.
Prosecutors claim the defendant killed the woman because he didn’t want her to end the pregnancy and they believe that the 23-year-old man was the father of the baby. The investigation process began in May last year after the 911 caller told the dispatcher about shots fired at the location.
The responding officers found the victim suffering from life-threatening injuries and pronounced her dead at the scene. The woman was shot multiple times in the head and body, court records say. The victim’s sister told investigators that moments before the fatal shooting, she reportedly saw her sibling walking with the defendant. The unidentified woman then heard gunshots only to turn back and realize her sister had been shot.
Witness, who was not identified, told authorities that the defendant attempted to put his girlfriend in a chokehold right before he shot her in the head, then multiple times in the body when she fell to the ground. Surveillance video showed the moment when the defendant shot the woman in the head right before attempting to put her in a chokehold.
Authorities believe the motive for the fatal shooting was the abrtion the woman got in Colorado, one day before she was killed. Authorities say the woman traveled from Texas to Colorado and was shot the day after she returned. Prosecutors claim the defendant didn’t want his girIfriend to get an abrtion and they believe he was the father of the baby.
During the investigation process, authorities in Texas discovered that the defendant previously assaulted the woman while she was pregnant by punching her and strangling her. According to the court documents, the defendant also made several threats to harm her family and her children because he was very jeaIous of her former partner.
