Chattanooga, TN – According to the CFD officials, fire destroyed a home under renovation.

Chattanooga Fire Department’s Green Shift companies responded to the 4200 block of Quinn Adams Street, where Engine 14 arrived to find flames showing from a single-story residential structure.

Despite an aggressive interior attack, firefighters were forced to retreat after a flashover occurred.

Defensive operations were then initiated, with several handlines and master streams used to bring the fire under control.

Crews also worked to protect nearby homes, though the house next door sustained some melted siding due to radiant heat.

Fortunately, there were no injuries, as the structure was unoccupied due to ongoing renovations. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

The damage to the home was so extensive that it will need to be torn down to allow firefighters to fully extinguish remaining pockets of fire.

The Chattanooga Fire Department received assistance on the scene from the Chattanooga Police Department, Hamilton County EMS, EPB, and Public Works. Units that responded included Engine 14, Engine 1, Engine 9, Ladder 5, Squad 20, Battalion 1, Battalion 2, CFD Supply, and CFD Investigations.
