Detroit, MI – According to the court documents, the 32-year-old defendant, later identified as SauI was sentenced to 14 to 30 years behind bars after he was convicted of t0rture and witness interference. The defendant was convicted after pleading no-contest to the charges, court records say. Prosecutors claim the defendant t-rtured his then-wife at the family’s home last year after accusing her of infideIity.
The unidentified woman reportedly told prosecutors that her then-husband accused her of infideIity before forcing her to the family’s basement. The man placed a bucket and tied a rope from the ceiling. The defendant then told the woman to stand on top of the bucket while he put the rope around the woman’s neck. Moments later, the woman slipped and started handing in the air. The then-husband then took her down.
Just several months after the initial incident, the 32-year-old defendant again accused the woman about cheating. He again forced the woman to the basement and placed her in a swing that was hanging from the ceiling. Shortly after, he grabbed a rope and a wire and used them to tie the woman. The man then connected the wire with electricity, causing the woman to be electrocuted.
According to the prosecutors, the man eIectrocuted the woman every single time she answered or didn’t answered. The victim, who was not identified, told prosecutors that her then-husband tortured her for 5 hours and only released her when he got tired. Several days later, the woman reported the incident to authorities and got her husband arrested. The woman has since divorced the defendant.
