As a result, the response time was extended, and applicants were thanked for their patience as the team managed the influx.
Participants in the ride-along program had to be prepared to ride for the entire shift, with no guarantee of being dropped off at any point other than the start and end of the officer’s shift.
This immersive experience allowed residents to gain a firsthand understanding of the daily challenges and responsibilities faced by law enforcement officers.
