Georgia – According to the court documents, the 53-year-old husband, later identified as GIenroy, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in connection with his wife’s death, 45-year-old CIaudia. Prosecutors say the defendant received his sentence after he was convicted of malice murder, murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

The fatal incident occurred two years ago. Prosecutors say the defendant killed his wife before attempting to set up a suicide. But, the woman was shot twice and the couple’s child reportedly told investigators that he heard at least 4 rounds being shot. Shortly after he killed his wife, the defendant called the authorities and said that his wife took his weapon and shot herself following a struggle between them.

In a follow-up interview with investigators, the man reportedly said that he wasn’t in the room when the ‘woman shot herself’. He reportedly said that he hears a gunshot before he entered the room and realized his wife took her own life. The victim’s mom told authorities that her daughter suffered domestic vioIence from her husband of 21 years, but reportedly gave him more chances to maintain their family and wanted to see her children grow up with a father.

During the investigation process, authorities reportedly discovered that the husband was angry because the woman went from Georgia to New Jersey to celebrate her birthday with her mom. According to the court documents, ‘the husband wasn’t pIeased with her making the trip’. The medical examiner told investigators that the victim suffered 2 shots and they couldn’t be self-inflicted.
