The Chattanooga Police Department recently joined forces with the Family Justice Center for the “Partners in Hope” event, which aimed to raise awareness and support for survivors of domestic violence
Chattanooga, TN – According to the police officials, this event, held in observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, highlighted the importance of collaboration in addressing the widespread issue of domestic violence.
“Domestic violence is a serious issue that affects individuals and families in our community,” said Chattanooga Police Chief John Chambers. “By continuing our partnership with the Family Justice Center, we aim to break the silence surrounding this issue and encourage those affected to seek help.”
Regina McDevitt, Executive Director of the Family Justice Center, emphasized the role of law enforcement in supporting survivors. “As we honor the strength and resilience of survivors, we also recognize the critical role law enforcement plays in ensuring their safety. Together, we create a network of support and protection, sending a clear message that violence has no place in our communities.”
The Family Justice Center serves as a vital resource for victims of domestic violence, providing a safe space for those seeking assistance. The facility also hosts CPD’s Special Victims Unit and Juvenile/Missing Persons Units, ensuring that victims of sensitive crimes receive the support they need to navigate the justice system and find healing.
Through events like Partners in Hope, both the CPD and Family Justice Center reaffirm their commitment to protecting and empowering survivors of domestic violence, working together to build a safer, stronger community.
