Clarksville Fire Rescue recently hosted a two-day seminar titled “Building a Top Shelf Culture,” instructed by Acting Battalion Chief Niemann of the Wichita Fire Department
Clarksville, TN – According to the statement, the event reportedly drew approximately 100 attendees, including officers from CFR, Dickson Fire Rescue, Hopkinsville Fire Rescue in Kentucky, La Vergne Fire Rescue, and Montgomery County Fire Rescue.
The seminar focused on a bottom-up approach to fostering a high-performing culture within fire departments. It outlined five essential keys to developing crew competency, which lead to consistent and reliable actions on the fireground.
The program emphasized achieving operational proficiency and aggressiveness without compromising safety, enabling incident commanders to better assess risks, manage time effectively, and predict outcomes accurately during emergencies.
Keith Niemann, a 24-year veteran of the Wichita Fire Department, currently serves as an Acting Battalion Chief overseeing Wichita Fire’s Special Operations Companies.
Attendees praised the seminar as a valuable learning experience, reflecting the commitment of CFR and participating departments to advancing fire service excellence.
