One person was killed in a crash involving a tractor-trailer that closed a portion of Interstate 40 in Wilson County

TENNESSEE – According to the police officials, the crash occurred around 4:50 a.m. Wednesday morning.
It happened in the westbound lanes of I-40 directly under the Mt. Juliet Road exit.
The driver of the tractor-trailer lost control of the vehicle and it left the roadway, striking a guardrail.
The truck then struck a bridge support column and burst into flames.
Unfortunately, the driver was found dead inside the cab of the vehicle.
The trailer was empty at the time of the crash and was not hauling any freight.
This incident is under investigation.
