Tennessee – The Tennessee Department of Correction will be hosting a Rapid Hire Event on March 14 and 15 at the McIver’s Grant Public Library in Dyersburg, providing an opportunity for individuals interested in starting a career as a correctional officer at the Northwest Correctional Complex.

The event allows qualified applicants to complete interviews and pre-employment requirements on-site, with the possibility of receiving a conditional job offer the same day. Correctional officers starting at the Northwest Correctional Complex can expect an annual salary beginning at $51,204, with opportunities for tiered increases up to $60,720 after 18 months of service. In addition to competitive salaries, new correctional officers are eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Employees of the Tennessee Department of Correction also enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, life, vision, and dental insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and college tuition assistance.

New correctional officers will undergo six weeks of paid training at the Tennessee Correction Academy, during which they will complete Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT). This training includes both classroom instruction and hands-on experience within a facility to ensure officers are well-equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills for the role.
