This trick with baby powder will make your flowers bloom! Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or you’re just starting out; you want your flowers to thrive. This is not just because you want all of your hard work to pay off, but also because a garden full of flowers just looks so very pretty! Unfortunately, there’s a lot that can go wrong. First of all, there’s rot and if that doesn’t get your bulbs, there’s always all kinds of creatures and critters that want nothing more than to eat your flower bulbs. Luckily, we’ve got a simple trick that will solve this problem for you!

Baby powder

If you want to prevent your bulbs from either rotting or being eaten, baby powder is the solution you need. It might sound strange, but covering your flower bulbs in a layer of this white powder will make all the difference. It will keep away the underground creatures that want to devour your bulbs, such as moles or worms, since they find the smell of the powder absolutely repulsive. Plus, the powder also provides a protective layer against the fungi that cause rot.

This is what you need:

  • 5 or 6 flower bulbs
  • 3 tablespoons baby powder
  • resealable plastic baggy

This is how you do it:

First of all, pick the place you want to plant your flower bulbs and prepare it. Then, place about five or six bulbs in the plastic baggy and add three tablespoons of baby powder to it as well. Seal the bag shut and then shake it around for a little bit so the bulbs are all covered in powder all around. Next, just plant the flower bulbs like you normally would. That’s all there is to it!
